Present status of Coulomb explosion imaging study at TMUECRIS

چکیده
Explosive fragmentation of highly charged molecular ions has been studied by a position sensitive time-of-flight (TOF) technique. The highly charged molecular ions of CO2, CS2, NO2, and CD4 were produced by 90–120 keV collisions of Ar (n = 6, 8). By the detailed analysis of the 3-dimensional velocity vectors of the fragment ions, molecular images at the instant of multiple ionization are “reconstructed”, which are consistent with known structure of the neutral molecules. This in turn means that the dissociation of the highly charged ions is reasonably described by the pure Coulomb explosion scheme.

Time-resolved Four-body Coulomb Explosion Imaging of Correlated Dynamics of Hydrogen Atoms in Acetylene Dication
The correlated motion of the two deuterium atoms associated with the hydrogen migration and structural deformation to non-planar geometry are identified in acetylene dication by the time-resolved four-body Coulomb explosion imaging.
متن کاملA genetic algorithm-based approach for numerical solution of droplet status after Coulomb fission using the energy
As a droplet moves, due to evaporation at the surface, the droplet size is gradually reduced. Due to decreasing the size of the droplets moving in the spray core, the surface charges become closer and the repulsive force between the charges increases. When the Coulombic force overcomes the surface tension force (Rayleigh instability) the droplet breaks into smaller droplets (Coulomb fission). T...
متن کاملVelocity map imaging and theoretical study of the Coulomb explosion of CH3I under intense femtosecond IR pulses.
The Coulomb explosion of CH(3)I in an intense (10-100 TW cm(-2)), ultrashort (50 fs) and nonresonant (804 nm) laser field has been studied experimentally and justified theoretically. Ion images have been recorded using the velocity map imaging (VMI) technique for different singly and multiply charged ion fragments, CH(3)(p+) (p = 1) and I(q+) (q ≤ 3), arising from different Coulomb explosion ch...
متن کاملIdentification of absolute geometries of cis and trans molecular isomers by Coulomb Explosion Imaging
An experimental route to identify and separate geometric isomers by means of coincident Coulomb explosion imaging is presented, allowing isomer-resolved photoionization studies on isomerically mixed samples. We demonstrate the technique on cis/trans 1,2-dibromoethene (C2H2Br2). The momentum correlation between the bromine ions in a three-body fragmentation process induced by bromine 3d inner-sh...
متن کاملMolecules in intense laser fields : From Coulomb explosion to high order harmonic generation
The nonperturbative response of molecules in ultrashort (t < 20 femtoseconds), intense (I 10 W/cm ) laser fields can only be described by accurate numerical solutions of the corresponding time-dependent Schrödinger equation (non-relativistic) or Dirac (relativistic) equations. Different time scales, attosecond (10 s) for electrons, femtosecond (10 s) for nuclei make the accuracy of such numeric...
